Monday 5th May – Visit to the Royal Gunpowder Mills at Waltham Abbey.
Situated between the A10 and the M25, the Royal Gunpowder Mills at Waltham Abbey should prove to be a very interesting visit. The Bank Holiday weekend at this venue is a VE Day event with Military and civilian re-enactions of life as it was during World War II. Visit a 1940’s general store, toy shop and kitchen. Experience an air raid and take cover in the shelter. Sing along to the classic songs of the 1940s. Weather permitting, Carolyn Grace in her Spitfire, will perform a spectacular aerial display. If you wish to come, please let Paul know as we may be able to “display” our cars if we have enough - and there are special group rates. Meet in the car park at Tesco’s at Royston - 10am
